Why do people suddenly buy music of a singer when they die?

Posted on July 6th, 2009

Since Michael Jackson’s death, people have been buying CDs and MP3 files of his music. Hence why his music dominates the Top 10 of iTunes

My question is, if people are fans of a singer or band, did they have any music from them before they died? Also why do they wait (not sure if wait is the right word) to someone dies?

I haven’t bought any Michael Jackson’s music since he died.

I’ve enjoyed MJ music but I have never bought any.
The only thing that is going to happen are a lot of people are going to be paying to much for an album.
I mean Elves has been dead for years, and you can still buy all his music if you want, what are these people thinking!!

maybe they didn’t want to financially support him in case he DIDN’T die…

People are in shock. They want to have a piece of that person and the only way to do that is to have one of his/her possessions…

http://www.TopList.fm has a tribute to MJ. Check it out and support.

Michael Jackson is like…the greatest singer of all time. So his albums will be worth alot of money anyways.

And in like, 25 years or so when another generation discovers his music all the original albums (the huge things) will be worth hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

People don’t expect death. The nice thing about this death is it has brought celebration. Out of all the things that happened in Micheal’s life, the thing people are remembering is the music. It is bringing pop culture together for the first time in a long time. We all knew he made great music, us younger people especially never had the chance to actually download it til now. It is awesome that his sales are soaring, it shows that there maybe is hope in this world, because people usually only remember others for what they did wrong.

    Well,
I guess people are buying more C-D’s now people Michael
Jacksons death was a massive shock to the world. So many people paniced that they would stop selling his C-D’s so they decided to rush to there closest Music Store and buy them. I remeber, a couple of days ago…I went into K-mart and went to the C-D section. I was origanly looking for Metalic but somthing caught my eye. Ther was only one Michael Jackson C-D there….Then a man walked up and bought the C-D….it looked like the man had been crying becuase he had bloodshot eyes. When I went up to the counter to buy my Metalica C-D….I asked the man and the counter "The Michael Jackson C-D’s have all gorn…" the man replied "I know…..were not going to be able to get any more becuase most other countrys have already orderd them."…………My question is……"Is Michael Jackson’s music slowy desinagrating until theres nothing left?"
