Do you think what Mark Ecko did to Barry Bonds’ home run ball could be considered slander?

He is getting an asterisk branded on it and giving it to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Now, the ball isn’t Barry’s, but, I think it could be considered slander, since the public is accusing Bonds’ when nothing has been found to make him guilty.
What do you think? Do you think Bonds could sue Ecko for it?

Slander? No. Libel? Perhaps.
Definitely not slander, since it is a WRITTEN insult.
Additionally, Bonds himself has put himself in the position of being accused of taking steroids, so he himself has created the controversy. Additionally, in a court, I don’t see ANY jury giving a verdict to Bonds following what he’s said about steroids, abuse and his own use.
The truth is a defense to both libel and slander and Bonds has used steroids!

If it’s slander then Barry has to prove it isn’t true.

Yes, why not. Ecko is a clown. He looks like K-Fed’s father.

No, becuase it is the will of the people. Mark Ecko did not say Bonds cheated (though he did say he voted for the astrisk). The public voted (I voted 5 times for the winning choice).
