How much money do you have to pay to register a vehicle in NY?

Just wondering if any of you guys remembered the amount of money you had to fork over to the dmv to register your vehicle. I bought a car from a private party, i have the title and such. I called the dmv and they told me the total amount is about 0.00. I dont think that sounds right though, i did tell him the weight, and proof of sale. Does anyone have an answer? Thanks
1992 Lexus es300,
Weight: 3374
Bill of sale 500 dollars (i actualy paid 2k for it, just didnt want to get raped in taxes)
I already spoke to someone from the dmv!, i want to compare the costs of what everyone else paid. 180.00 seems a lot! i didn think it would be ove 100

well for one you have to pay 50 bucks if the title has to be changed to your name, then on top of that u paid according to the weight, and sounds like yours will be about another 50 bucks for that, then u have to figure in the tax, i would say no more than 115-120, 180 doesn’t sound right me me either
