Is a CIS degree considered a related field to finance and economics?

I was just wondering if a degree in computer information systems is considered a related to finance and economics when applying for a job. Also the degree in CIS is offered in the college of business administration

Yes, it is more of a Business major than computer science.

I would have to say no. I have a CIS degree which was part of the College of Business. However, now that I work in recruiting I see that CIS majors tend to work in Engineering, which is of course technical. If you are doing true CIS work – coding, testing, etc – you’re technical.
