How much money should I take to Ethiopia?
I’m only planning to stay for two days.
I wouldn’t mind staying in a cheap hotel, but I want to know how much money I need to get around to see the city I’ll be in capital and for food and a bit of clubbing.

Let me give you some examples:
-Room at a three star hotel will cost you about 300-400 Ethiopian Birr (ETB)
-A burger in a good cafe could go as much as 30-50 ETB
-Coke is 4-7 ETB (depending on where you buy it)
-You can use the local taxis and pay up to 5 ETB per trip which will get you to most destinations in the city. You might need to switch taxis (mini-buses).
-Or you can rent a Lada Taxi cab for around 30-50 ETB per trip, day time and pretty much more if you’re out clubbing.
-Beer is 10-20 ETB (Depends on the quality of the club).
-Some have entrance fees of around 50 ETB.I’ll add more when I can…Safe trip…and just ENJOY yourself!

On top of the previous comment, a rough conversion from ETB to USD is 10:1. So 100 ETB ~ 10 USD …etc
- Don’t keep all your money together, just to be cautious not to attract attention. That way when you take out money from your pocket, you will not take out a bundle, but a maximum of 200 ETB, which can only be two 100 ETB notes.
You will enjoy your experience and find yourself wanting to go back soon
Enjoy.
